@An0nEeMouse Thanks again. Using video, photos and audio to tell a story is what puts food on my table. I have decided to use the same to help folks in the gun & knife community make more educated choices. If the end result is entertaining and has more production value than is found elsewhere on Youtube, then I’m a happy camper! That’s more important to me than 50,000 subscribers and 40 minutes of blathering. Enjoy! More to come for sure…
@An0nEeMouse Thanks for your comments and perspective. Mine has been the opposite. In the past 23 years I’ve owned productions primarily from Buck, Gerber, SOG, Benchmade, Microtech & Protech. They have all actually been geometrically perfect due to CNC cuts, mechanized grinds, etc. Only when I got into more hand- produced knives did I see the small imperfections. Holding a degree in art, I know that handmade stuff is never perfect. Nevertheless, people should know what to expect from Sandown.
Also just wanted to say I really like your videos. Very different to what most people do, keep it up!
Interesting, to me the beauty of a hand made knife is (or should be) that they ARE perfect and don’t have the imperfections inherent in automated or machine based manufacturing. Production daggers will have the grind slightly, almost imperceptibly off centre or not perfectly straight, but a really good custom should be dead on.
Don’t want to badmouth Wall, it’s an affordable custom like you say so it’s true you wouldn’t necessarily expect perfect grinds at that price level.
