Is speed safe legal in Canada?
i kinda already knew this the little metal stick broke on my black leek.. neway kool video
I recently bought an OSO Sweet and I love the assisted opening, but apparently where I live it is up to an officer’s discretion on whether or not it is a switchblade, button or no button on the handle. The kicker is I bought it from a local sporting goods store… anyway, if I remove the spring to make sure I am within the law here is there a detent or anything that keeps the blade closed, or will it now be loose and possibly open in my pocket (I carry tip up) since it no longer has the spring?
has your bar ever got loose on your knife? mine feels a lot slower when being deployed
Now to try it on my 301.
When i opened up my Leek there was a little black man in there and he said “Nah ahh you wasnt supposed to do dat”.
@75SilentWarrior You can go to the Kershaw website and download a warranty form to send the knife in and they will repair, usually for free.
thanks for the vid i am tring to take my leek apart to clean but i can’t get the pivot screw out. can you help me. the back side of the screw just spins and i can’t hold it without damageing my knife. thanks
@ 2:50 was that your door bell?
very similar components as a copper pipe slice
@carpmanager1 they will only open accidentally if there is alot of pressure, shure it doesn’t take much to open them but they have a good lock if you use it (I personally dont) but you have to push the kicker in past the bottom of the scales for it to flip open…if that makes any sense
Thanks, dude. Saved me disassembling for curiosity!
hey i just bought a spring assisted knife and when i got it it worked fine smooth later today i was putting a bit more of a edge on it put some wd40 on after wards blew it of with a compreser and but now it makes a clicking nose it dint before espesaly on closeing but with opening aswell the thing is it dint until i did that it was quite now it makes loud clicks? what probably happened and is this a problem? and what can i do to fix? please help
have you ever had or heard of the knife ever opening accidentally? I keep my knives in my waist band and don’t want to get anything cut off. I just want to know it is safe first. obviously i would lock it and stuff, but what if the lock safety came off? Could the knife deploy in my waist band?
My chive’s torsion bar broke so no more assist.
Great Video! I just bought this knife, was curious how the Mechanism works. Now i know .. Thanks !! =)
i have that same scallion.
Thanks good video I own a 1670RDST this knife is fucking badass great company excellent company
@ajsharkmaniac07 yea
EXCELLENT VIDEO. Saved my A** when I took my Kershaw 1610 apart and some parts went flying. If you decide to take yours apart, be sure it is in the OPEN position when you do. Taking photos as you go is a good idea. I’m on my 2nd 1600 model. The first lasted a long time but the torsion bar broke. I took it apart to see what was wrong, then sent it back with a letter explaining what I did. I asked them to repair it for me and they sent me a new one. Great knife, great company.
In Cali would the SOG assist be legal?
If i take out the torsion bar, will it slide open in my pocket- almost like having a slipjoint without the slipjoint for the closed position?
Knife laws get tricky. Semi auto knives vary; torque bar assists are legal just about everywhere in the US, however certain places (for example: Washington state) outlaw spring assisted blades. This is subject to change in the future.
On that note, jonosays: Obama hasn’t OFFICIALLY nixed those laws yet so be careful for now
oh ok thanks
well for one if the screws loctite is broken, but you cna eaisly replace that with new loctite…
